Born from a passion of calibration in 1998 by Stephen Oxborough (Technical Director) the facility has now become a leading authority in many fields of calibration. AMECaL's commitment to improving known procedures and its pioneering work in specialised fields such as Gloss Measurement make it an invaluable resource of technical expertise in the UK's calibration industry today.

Stephen started his career prior to university as an electrical apprentice at the Neptune shipyard on the Tyne, just a stone's throw from where AMECaL's multi-laboratory facility is today. Part of his training involved a period in the shipyard's calibration laboratory, sparking of a lifelong interest in calibration.

AMECaL boasts a wide and varied spectrum of calibration services encompassing the vast array of measuring equipment employed in industry today - such as the Automotive, Pharmaceutical and Food industries.

Our calibration team has many years of technical expertise in all aspects of the calibration and repair fields. That, together with ongoing training in new technologies and calibration techniques, brings a high level of technical ability.
