RCD (Residual Current Device) is one of the most important parts of an electrical system that is safety mechanism designed to prevent fatal electrical shock from happening to a person touching bare live wire. This device can also protect system from failure and fire hazard (electrical fires). Its main task is to disconnect the circuit (or part of it) in the event of a fault. RCD Tester is used to safely trigger the RCD device to check if it operates accurately and timely in case of any electrical incident (safety switch testing).

 

Any type of electrical and environmental test equipment will lose its accuracy and precision over time. RCD testers are no exception from this rule. It is advisable to re-calibrate the instrument every 6 – 12 months and to use ISO 17025 accredited laboratory like AMECaL.
